"Open Spaces II"
Presented by Highfield Hall, the Falmouth Artists
Guild and the 300 Committee and sponsored by the Falmouth
Cultural Council. In a reprise of a popular 2005 exhibition,
these three organizations once again welcome local artists to
submit works of art that celebrate Falmouth’s open spaces and
historic places. Submissions may be made through the Falmouth

Benoit as they share some favorite easy hors d’oeuvres recipes

The Guitar
The Guitar with Joseph Scott. One of the oldest of
instruments with roots tracing back 5,000 years, the guitar has
been a principal player in many traditions of world music. A
master teacher and recitalist, Joseph Scott, will share the
story enhanced with examples of traditional and novel

Nature Journaling and
Bookmaking Workshop

April 13 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Highfield Hall
For Families, Adults and Kids
Join Rebecca Noack, head of the Art Department for the Falmouth
Public Schools, as she leads children and their favorite adults
in this fun program for the family. Be inspired by the beautiful
natural surroundings of Highfield Hall to create your own
personal nature journal. Mini, accordion and more
complicated book styles will be taught with different styles
being appropriate for different ability levels. Create
"stamps," collage, drawings, rubbings, textures,
incorporating words, poetry, and embellishments. Meet on the
back porch and in the Highfield Billiard Room. Advance
registration with the Falmouth Artists Guild appreciated,

not required. All materials supplied; feel free to bring your
own items to use or add to your journal too. Rain or shine.

Alison Robb, founder of Nature’s Circle and Nature Coordinator
for Highfield Hall will lead walkers on a spring ramble through
Beebe Woods to look for signs of life. Free of Charge

Arbor Day Ceremony at 12:30
Celebrate Arbor Day at Highfield Hall as dozens of arborists
descend upon the Highfield landscape to care for
hundred-year-old specimen trees, transplant beech trees to new
locations, plant new flowering trees, and clear the historic
gardens for their rebirth. An Arbor Day Ceremony will be held at
noon. This event is sponsored by the Town of Falmouth,
Mullen-Hall School, the Falmouth Beautification Council, the
Falmouth Garden Club, NSTAR, and local arborists.
Nature Sketching with
Alison Robb

April 24, 2:00 pm at Highfield Hall
Join local naturalist and artist Alison Robb in this adventure
in sketching nature from life. Work will be indoors or outdoors

Join Falmouth Enterprise Food Columnist Gail Blakely on an
adventure in Panini making! This fun workshop will teach the
basics of paninis and provide lots of ideas for great sandwich
combinations and condiment recipes. Fee per student is $29 for

Teachers

Join our local Falmouth Public Schools art teachers as they
exhibit their own artwork and share their inspirations.
Reception is free and open to the public. Artful Teaching is on
display in the Clark Gallery from April 29 - May 13.
